The Humble Monthly Review

Hi There!
Can you believe its already November?
Personally, it almost feels like October didn’t happen. Our family has basically been on a sort of lockdown since October 7th and the only leaving the house has been to supermarkets or to get food/essentials.
For the last few years I’ve tried on and off (mostly off) to perform a monthly review. Some how it feels like in regular times its hard to sit down and reflect while in times of turmoil or overwhelm its easier to reflect. This month I am grateful to having set up a structure for a monthly review in the past.
I’ve been using a Monthly review structure adapted from Marie Poulin and August Bradley. The key things I try to focus on are:
Part 1: Reflection on the previous month
What am I grateful for in the previous month?
What are some lows and challenges from the previous month?
Are there any learnings from the past month?
Ending with wins from the month, any good things that have happened?
Part 2: Setting up the coming month
Setting a theme for the coming month
Setting intentions for the coming month, or what will make this month awesome
Defining goals for the month
Nothing too complicated, but enough to get things off your mind and set intentions and loose goals for the coming month. And of course, its a template built in Notion so I’m not reinventing it every month or needing to remember what should be included.
I want to hear from you. Are you doing a regular monthly review and have you found value in it? If your not, what’s stopping you?
